Sauviat-sur-Vige Limoges Porcelains S10
Sauviat-sur-Vige is a town near Limoges where a porcelain factory was in operation from 1836 to 1846. Louis-Aime Tharaud, the son of Paul Tharaud, leased the factory in 1853.
The factory was sold in 1873 and produced luxury whitewares under Andre Dupuy (d1897). Dupuy was succeeded by his son Emile, who opened a studio and warehouse in Limoges in 1920.
In 1935 Emil Dupuy sold the Sauviat-sur-Vige factory to Giraud (d1968) & Brousseau (d1967). After Brousseau died, the company continued as Giraud & Cie; then in 1979 the company became A. Giraud & Fils.
